BLACKSBURG – Coming out of Wednesday's National Signing Day, Virginia Tech baseball head coach John Szefc proudly welcomed his second straight top-30 recruiting class to Blacksburg during the weekend as the Hokies celebrated their Class of 2022 newcomers at English Field.
With an even split of in-state and out-of-state talent, Tech's 2022 recruiting class ranks No. 29 nationally by Perfect Game – one spot below where the 2021 class had achieved the program's highest placement since 2011. Among the Hokies' latest signees, six players ranked inside Perfect Game's top 500, including two top-200 recruits.
At the center of Tech's recruiting approach, the Hokies strive to consistently recruit and sign the best players within the state of the Virginia. Not only does Tech's 2022 class restock the program with a new wave of athleticism, but it also fills the Hokies' needs both positionally and on the mound.
Over the weekend, Tech welcomed its 2022 class to English Field for official visits, celebrating the contingent of Hokies that will carry the program through the 2026 season.
As Tech turns the page towards its 2022 campaign, fans are encouraged to follow the Hokies on Twitter via @HokiesBaseball and on Instagram via @hokiesbaseball to meet the program's incoming class.
