ACC Network's Packer and Durham morning show will broadcast live from the course with coverage starting at 7 a.m., before ACCN streams both championship races. Live results for each championship will be provided by FlashResults. This marks the second time this season the Hokies will compete at Notre Dame this year, following the Joe Piane Invitational at the start of October.
During the Hokies' first trip to South Bend, Antonio Lopez Segura continued his string of impressive results. The Barcelona native led the way for Tech with a fifth-place finish, third among ACC runners. Lindsey Butler paced the Hokies on the women's side, taking 34th overall and 10th against ACC competition.
Athletes in the women's championship will race the 6,000m loop at Burke Golf Course, and the men's championship will cover 8,000m through the course. The top 21 finishers in both the men's and women's races will earn All-ACC honors. The first true freshman to finish each championship race will earn ACC Freshman of the Year recognition.
In last year's ACC Championships at the WakeMed Soccer Complex in Cary, N.C., Antonio Lopez Segura paced the Hokies and finished in ninth. Reagan Bustamante led the women's squad with a 39th-place finish.
Additionally, two points in the Commonwealth Clash are up for grabs, one for each championship race. Following a halt during the 2019-20 academic year due to COVID-19 implications, the Commonwealth Clash has been renewed and has a new presenting sponsor in Smithfield. The Commonwealth Clash is a friendly, statewide rivalry between Virginia Tech and Virginia and their school-sponsored sports, with 22 individual event points on the line. The school that accumulates 11.5 points or more has been annually crowned the winner and takes home the Commonwealth Clash trophy, presented by Smithfield.
