BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech football punter Peter Moore has been named to the Midseason Freshman All-America Team composed by Max Olson of The Athletic.

Moore (6-1, 207) ranks second in the ACC with 10 punts of 50+ yards and is tied for the conference lead with 13 punts inside the 20-yard line. The redshirt freshman recorded a 49.0-yard average on six punts vs. Notre Dame (10/9) including a career-long 64-yard punt. Moore has served as Tech's punter in all six games this season.

The honor for Moore marks the third time this season Tech's special teams unit has been recognized. PR Tayvion Robinson was named the ACC Co-Specialist of the Week following his 60-yard punt return TD vs. Richmond (9/25). Robinson was also listed as the returner on ESPN's All-ACC Midseason Team.

Moore and the Hokies are back in action Saturday in Lane Stadium as Tech hosts Syracuse for a 12:30 p.m. ET kickoff. The game will be televised on Regional Sports Networks.

Tickets to Saturday's game are still available starting at $65. Click here to find tickets.
