Wake Forest (7-4-1, 2-2-1 ACC) enters the contest on a three-game win streak, which includes a 2-1 victory on the road against North Carolina. The Demon Deacons are led by forward Kyle Holcomb, who has two goals and two assists in the last three matches. The 2007 College Cup champions have controlled the all-time series against Tech, boasting a 20-3-3 record.
NOTES ON THE HOKIES
- Virginia Tech comes in at No. 5 in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll. The program record for highest ranking is No. 3, coming at the conclusion of the 2007 season.
- Since falling 1-0 to No. Duke, the Hokies have gone 6-0-1, including five wins at home. Tech boasts a 17-6 scoring advantage in those seven games with Jacob Labovitz accounting for six of those goals.
