BLACKSBURG – Tech's cross country squads prepare for their first away meet of the season as the Hokies head to the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. this Friday.
Virginia Tech will compete alongside 46 other men's teams and 53 other women's teams at Notre Dame's Burke Golf Course, including 11 nationally ranked men's programs and 12 ranked women's programs.
Joining the Hokies and Fighting Irish from the ACC will be Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, NC State, and Virginia in Tech's first competition alongside ACC rivals this season.
Action gets started on Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m. in the women's 5k, followed by the men's 8k at 11:15 a.m. Live results will be provided by PrimeTime Timing.

The Notre Dame Invite marks the first time the Hokies will compete since the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational three weeks prior. Antonio Lopez Segura crossed the line first for Tech in the men's 8k and Lindsey Butler paced the women across 6,000 meters in third in the Hokies' second home meet of the season. Lopez Segura's win earned him Co-ACC Performer of the Week honors.
