NOTES ON THE BUCS
ETSU (2-3-2, 0-1-1 SOCON) enters the match searching for its first win since a 4-2 victory over Radford on Sept. 4. The Bucs have been tested this season, facing three ranked opponents: No. 10 Marshall, No. 21 Lipscomb, and No. 22 VCU. However, ETSU only has one positive result from those matches – a 3-3 draw with Lipscomb.

NOTES ON THE HOKIES
• With three consecutive wins in dramatic fashion, Virginia Tech sits at 5-1-2. Two of the last three wins have been in OT against ACC opponents (Virginia and Notre Dame). The other result stemmed from a come from behind 3-2 victory at William & Mary.
 • Three members of the Virginia Tech back line – Sivert Haugli, Kyle McDowell, and Welnilton da Silva Jr. – have played all 672 minutes of the 2021 season. Two other players have registered over 700 minutes of action through eight games: Danny Flores (720) and Mayola Kinyua (701).
 • Five players (Labovitz, Pugh, Ameres, Monells, and Flores) have recorded a goal and an assist this season. In 17 games last season, only four players accomplished that feat for the Hokies.
