Hokies fall to Clemson to open ACC play

BLACKSBURG --  The Virginia Tech volleyball team suffered its first ACC loss on Friday evening, falling to Clemson 3-0. The Tigers are now 1-0 in ACC play and 9-3 overall. The Hokies fall to 9-4.
 
Clemson secured the victory with a 25-22 win in the first set, 25-23 win in the second and a 25-18 win to secure the match. The Tigers were led by Camryn Hannah with 13 kills and Kaylee Martin with 11 kills. Cate Long and Devan Taylor recorded 22 and 20 assists, respectively.  Taylor also ended her match with 10 digs.
 
For the Hokies, Griere Hughes was the offensive leader with 12 kills, hitting .333 on the day. Angel Robinson recorded five kills and a .417 attack percentage. Defensively, Tech had seven blocks, as Robinson recorded two solo blocks and Tasha Vipond added one. Logan Mosley had 11 digs on the night and Brie Postema added 18 assists.
