BLACKSBURG – Beginning its first practice of fall camp on Thursday, the Virginia Tech football team took the field in helmets and did various drills at Steve Johnson Practice Field and Beamer-Lawson Indoor Practice Facility.
A confident group, the Hokies were in happy spirits, as they should be, given it was the first time they suited up as a squad together. First day of school vibes were present and the message to the team was to compete and take fall camp one day at a time.
Tough to say which position group stood out, with there not being too much offense versus defense taking place, but coming into the season the receivers (Kaleb Smith pictured above) are expected to be one of the position groups that have the most depth.
