Paige Petty garners All-American recognition from IWLCA Tuesday

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – The IWLCA has named the 48 student-athletes who were selected for one of the 2021 Division I All-American teams – honorees are divided into first, second, and third teams. This group of IWLCA All-Americans represent 21 different institutions and are the best athletes in our game this year. Virginia Tech's Paige Petty earned Second Team honors following her senior season.
 
Petty was the Hokies' leading goal scorer with 42 goals on the season as she scored 45 total points. She became the program's all-time leader in goals and in the Hokies' 20-15 victory at Virginia when she scored her 200th. 

In 2021 she had seven games with three or more goals and was also the team's leader in draw controls with 56.


A double major in criminology and sociology, Petty departs Virginia Tech as the program leader in goals (204) and points (227) and ranks fourth in draw controls (241).

The Bernardsville, New Jersey native became the first Hokie to ever garner three First Team All-ACC awards.
