BLACKSBURG – As it has been done now for several years, the Virginia Tech women's soccer program introduces its signing class in a different way. Rather than announcing all of them and their accomplishments in one release, Tech highlights each new signee individually with her own release and a "Get to Know" Q&A. This method will continue for the 2021 signing class in our "Welcome Wednesday" features until all of the new Hokies have been announced.
Allie George, a 5-foot-11 forward from Louisville, Kentucky, is the Hokies' 10th newcomer to be announced during the 2020-21 signing period. A highly decorated player, George played four seasons of soccer for Sacred Heart Academy, which was the No. 1 team in the nation according to MaxPreps.com in 2018. She led Sacred Heart to district, region and state titles in 2020, while earning the Golden Ball award. George was named the 2019 Louisville Cathoic Player of the Year.
On the club scene, George competed for Javanon FC for 10 years, serving as captain for six of those. George tallied 27 goals and 15 assists with Javanon.
"We are thrilled to have someone of Allie's caliber join our program," Tech head coach Chugger Adair said. "She's proven to be successful throughout her club career. Allie has tremendous versatility, good size, power and is a threat in the air. She will also add depth in the spine of our team."
