BLACKSBURG – Following a tough series against in-state rival Virginia, Virginia Tech baseball is looking towards its midweek matchup against Georgetown at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park with the game being broadcast on ACC Network.
The Hokies (23-17, 16-14 ACC) and Hoyas (4-13, 4-10 Big East) will meet for the first time since April 21, 2002. Tech leads the all-time series 1-0.
This is the first time the two teams will face each other in Blacksburg.
ON THE CALL
The matchup on Tuesday will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra with Evan Hughes (play-by-play) and Andrew Wells (analyst) on the call, while Bryant Johnson will broadcast on Virginia Tech Sports Network.

LAST TIME OUT
Tech is coming off a 1-2 series loss against UVA. The Hokies struggled offensively in Game 1 only posting one run against the Cavaliers. Anthony Simonelli (5-1) threw an impressive game on Saturday, with going a career-high 7.0 innings and earning an ACC-high seven strikeouts. Tech struggled offensively again on Sunday, losing Game 3 6-1.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Simonelli has been an ace for the Hokies this season since returning to the lineup after his back injury. He has 50 strikeouts this season in 46.0 innings and has only allowed 31 hits. The junior currently owns a 5-1 record and a 4.50 ERA.
