Rochard named ACC Pitcher of the Week

ACC Release

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech softball's Keely Rochard has been named the ACC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Rochard (24-7) started and got the win in all four games at Syracuse over the weekend, including her second no-hitter of the season in Game 1. The Williamsburg, Virginia native has now won the award nine times in her career, three times this season, which is tied with Duke's Peyton St. George for the most this year.

The righty struck out 37 batters in New York and allowed just one run to the Orange on the weekend. Rochard currently leads the country in both strikeouts (288) and shutouts (13) and leads the ACC in wins (24), hits allowed per seven innings (3.46) and strikeouts per seven innings (10.4).

Rochard has been no stranger to accolades this season as she has also won the Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week twice as well as been named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 25.
