Hokies prepare for ACC tournament in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Virginia Tech baseball is preparing to take on Virginia and No. 7 Notre Dame this week in the 2021 ACC tournament with its first game starting on Tuesday at Truist Feld in Charlotte, N.C. and the games being broadcast on ACC Network Extra and RSN.

The Hokies lost 2-out-of-3 games this season to UVA and were swept by Notre Dame last weekend.

LAST TIME OUT

Tech was swept last week by Notre Dame in its last ACC weekend of the regular season. The Fighting Irish won the first game 8-2, Game 2 4-0, and Game 3 7-1. Ryan Okuda (2-3) got his first ACC weekend start of the season on Saturday striking out a career-high 10 batters in the game.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Nick Holesa has proved himself to be an important part of the starting lineup since the Duke series. In 14 regular season games, Holesa batted .429 in 28 at bats with 12 hits. He finished the regular season with a .448 on base percentage.
