Chrysostom and Fishback fall in Round of 32

ORLANDO, Fla. – Virginia Tech's young doubles pair of Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback fell in the Round of 32 of the NCAA Doubles Championship to Auburn's Finn Murgett and Tad Maclean, 6-2, 6-4.

After dropping two break points in the first set, the No.25-ranked Hokies duo had to battle back against the No. 26-ranked Tigers tandem.

Chrysostom and Fishback, who were 4-3 against ranked opponents coming into the match, went toe-to-toe with the team from Auburn for the first half of the second set. Eventually the Tigers broke Tech's team in the seventh game of the second set and didn't look back, clinching the match and a trip to the Round of 16.

The match wraps up postseason competition for the No. 29 Hokies. Virginia Tech had a solid run in postseason play, narrowly falling to No. 6 North Carolina in the ACC quarterfinals and falling in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 25 Texas Tech.
