Opens in a new window IWLCA Release

The IWLCA has honored 128 student-athletes in Division I with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2021. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2021 All-American teams and Players of the Year in June.

Two Hokies, Paige Petty (First Team) and Emma Crooks (Second Team) were each honored Wednesday with a selection to the South Region squads. Petty was the Hokies' leading goal scorer with 42 goals on the season as she scored 45 total points. She became the program's all-time leader in goals and in the Hokies' 20-15 victory at Virginia she scored her 200th.

The Bernardsville, New Jersey native becomes the first Hokie to ever garner three First Team All-ACC awards.

In 2021 she had seven games with three or more goals and was also the team's leader in draw controls with 56.

A double major in criminology and sociology, Petty departs Virginia Tech as the program leader in goals (204) and points (227) and ranks fourth in draw controls (241).

Petty was also named an All-American by US Lacrosse Magazine, the fourth All-American nod of her career.

Crooks started every game in 2021 and recorded 31 goals and 35 total points. The primary draw taker for the squad, Crooks secured 45 draw controls on the year. This season she has scored both her 100th career point and then tallied her 100th career goal.

The Great Falls, Virginia native earned a degree in public relations and graduates in seventh place all-time at Tech in draw controls with 177. She scored 113 goals and 127 points in her career.
