ROME Ga. – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team lost in the second round of the 2021 ACC Women's Tennis Championship to Georgia Tech, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon.
The 14th-seeded Hokies (7-17, 0-13 ACC) were able to upset 11th-seeded Clemson (8-15, 3-10) on Wednesday, but their run fell short against the six-seed Yellow Jackets (16-9, 8-5).
The No. 2- and No. 21-ranked double duos for Georgia Tech earned wins early in the afternoon, clinching the doubles point for the higher seed.
Virginia Tech dropped matches on Court 3, Court 4, and Court 5, locking up the win for Georgia Tech.
Thursday's match concludes the season for the Hokies.
