Hokies to face Clemson in first round of ACC Championship

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech will begin its journey in the ACC Women's Tennis Championship on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. against Clemson.

HOKIES
In its last outing, 14th-seeded Virgina Tech (6-10, 0-13 ACC) picked up some momentum with a 5-2 win against non-conference foe Liberty. The No. 70 duo of Shene Disbergen and Rita Pinto clinched the doubles point for Tech. The Hokies went on to have four players win in straight sets in singles – No. 119 Nika Kozar, Rita Pinto, Katie Andreini, and Elizabet Danailova. 
 
TIGERS
Clemson wrapped up its regular season with a 6-1 victory against Boston College. The Tigers have two ranked singles players – No. 61 Eleni Louka and No. 80 Jenna Thompson. Ali DeSpain and Laura Marti make up the No. 38 doubles duo, while Louka and Thompson pair up for the No. 63 ranked tandem. Clemson defeated Tech, 6-1, in the team's meeting earlier this season.
 
The winner of Wednesday's match will play Georgia Tech on Thursday.
