CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team fell to No. 26 Miami on the road Friday afternoon, 7-0.
The Hokies (5-13, 0-10 ACC) kept it close with the Hurricanes (10-5, 7-3) in doubles. Seniors Nika Kozar and Nina Sorkin were matched up against the No. 19 ranked duo of Estela Perez-Samarriba and Isabella Pfennig and put up a strong match, eventually falling to the team, 7-5.
In singles, the Hurricane's top half of the lineup couldn't be stopped. Senior Elizabet Danailova and junior Rita Pinto took their opponents to a 10-point tiebreaker, but were unable to close out the match.
The Hokies will return to action on Sunday at noon to face No. 6 Florida State (13-3, 8-2).
