Ranked Florida foes await Hokies

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team is on the road this weekend with matches against No. 26 Miami and No. 6 Florida State.

HOKIES
Virginia Tech (5-12, 0-9 ACC) is coming off a 5-2 victory on Senior Day against William & Mary (3-6, 1-1 CAA). On their day, seniors Nina Sorkin, Nika Kozar, and Shene Disbergen all picked up wins in some capacity to earn the Hokies a strong non-conference win. Last weekend, Disbergen and partner Rita Pinto earned a win against the No, 39 doubles team from North Carolina (19-0, 9-0), which has propelled them to a No. 65 ranking.
 
HURRICANES
No. 26 Miami (9-5, 6-3) defeated Wake Forest (9-8, 5-4) in its last outing, downing the No. 32 Demon Deacons convincingly, 7-0. The Hurricanes singles lineup holds two ranked players – No. 4 Estela Perez-Somarriba and No. 17 Isabella Pfennig. Perez-Somarriba and Pfennig also make up the No. 19 doubles duo, along with Maya Tahan and Diana Khodan, who make up the No. 20 pair. 
 
SEMINOLES
No. 6 Florida State (13-3, 8-2) came away with a 7-0 win over No. 45 Notre Dame (9-11, 2-8) in its last match. The Seminoles lineup contains two ranked singles players – No. 8 Giulia Pairone and No. 31 Emmanuelle Salas. Three doubles teams from the Seminoles are ranked, as well – No. 12 Andrea Garcia and Nandini Das, No. 38 Petra Hule and Victoria Allen, and No. 42 Salas and Allen.
