Tech’s tournament begins Thursday with clash against Miami

The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is poised to begin their postseason journey with a matchup with the Miami Hurricanes in the second round of the ACC Tournament. Tipoff from the Greensboro Coliseum is set for 6 p.m. and can be viewed on Regional Sports Networks.

The Hokies earned the league's seven seed behind a strong run late, winning six of their final seven games, that included six consecutive wins, the program's longest winning streak in ACC games since joining the league in 2004. Miami (11-10, 8-10) is the 10 seed.
 
Tech features three All-ACC student-athletes in Aisha Sheppard and Elizabeth Kitley who were each honored Tuesday as the first Hokie tandem to make First Team All-ACC in the same season. Freshman point guard Georgia Amoore was also selected to the league's All-Freshman team after averaging 11.3 points and better than 4.6 assists per contest.
