Tech faces off against Miami on Saturday, Boston College on Sunday

BLACKSBURG – Coming off its first victory of the spring, the Virginia Tech volleyball team will travel to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts for two matches with Miami on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET and then Boston College on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Both matches will be played inside Power Gym.

The Hokies are coming off their first victory of the spring slate against Syracuse. Tech took down the Orange 3-2 in a five-set thriller and now has six wins on the season. In the contest, three Hokies reached double figures in kills including Kaity Smith (19 kills), Marisa Cerchio (16), Ashley Homan (15).
 
Miami sits at 9-5 on the season and 7-5 in ACC play. The Hurricanes have won three of its last four outings but are coming off a 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh. Miami is led by Jose Gandara who is in his eighth season at the helm and has an overall record of 131-87.
 
Boston College is 1-12 on the season and 0-12 in the conference. The Eagles have dropped their last four matches with their last win coming over Northeastern in early February. Boston College is led by Jason Kennedy who is in his third season with the Eagles and has an overall record of 36-39.

  • Libero Logan Mosley scooped up a season-high 25 digs against Syracuse, Mosley now has 668 digs in her career.

 

  • Setter Brie Postema now has 84 assists over her last four outings. 

 

  • With the 15 kills against Syracuse, outside hitter Homan now has 132 kills on the season.
