Tech drops match to Clemson

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team fell to Clemson, 6-1, at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
 
In doubles action, freshman Katie Andreini and sophomore Erika Cheng were drawn 4-4 on Court 2 against the duo of Cristina Mayorova and Sophia Hatton, until the game was called short due to the doubles point being clinched.

Senior Nina Sorkin shined for the Hokies (4-11, 0-8 ACC) today, winning her match on Court 3 in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5. The Tigers (7-12, 1-8 ACC) clinched the match with straight set wins on Court 1, Court 5, and Court 6. 

Virginia Tech will return to the court Friday to face No. 1 North Carolina (17-0, 7-0 ACC) at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
