HOKIES
Virginia Tech (3-8, 0-5) looked strong in its last outing, a 4-3 win over Marshall (3-3). The Hokies dropped the doubles point, but rallied against the Thundering Herd in singles. Freshman Katie Andreini had a convincing showing on Court 5, winning 6-0, 6-0. Senior Nina Sorkin and graduate student Shene Disbergen kept the ball rolling for Tech with straight set wins for Tech on Court 5 and Court 6. The match came down to Court 1, where freshman Tamara Barad Itzhaki secured the win for the Hokies after dropping her opponent in the tiebreaker, 6-7, 6-2, 7-6.
CAVALIERS
Virginia (8-2, 4-1) enter the weekend on a three-match win streak, most recently downing Notre Dame, 6-1. In the rankings, Virginia boasts the No. 31 duo of Rosie Johanson and Vivian Glozman and has five ranked players in its singles lineup: Natasha Subhash (No. 11), Rosie Johanson (No. 44), Emma Navarro (No. 80), Sofia Munera (No. 91), and Amber O'Dell (No. 104).
