Hokie divers set for NCAA Zones

BLACKSBURG – Two Hokie divers are heading to the 2021 NCAA Zone A Championships held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center on March 11-13.

The Hokies will be represented by Izzi Mroz and Teagan Moravek. Competition will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday with the women's 1M and men's 3M.

All dives (prelims & finals) will count toward a final score. Divers that qualify for the NCAA Championships in an event are eligible to compete in any other event as long as they finish in the top-12 and achieved a zone qualifying score.

The NCAA consists of five zones, each has a different amount of invite slots based on performance of the zone's divers in last year's NCAA Championship. Divers must score a certain mark during the season to be invited to compete at their respective zone's. Each diver will compete to qualify for an invitation to NCAA Championships.
Divers from Boston College, George Mason, James Madison, Liberty, Penn State, Rutgers, Towson, U.S. Naval Academy, Pittsburgh, Virginia and West Virginia are scheduled to join the Hokies in competition.
