BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is back on the court this Thursday, February 4 to take on the Pitt Panthers for the second time this season. Tip is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on Regional Sports Networks.
In the first game this season at Cassell on December 10, the Hokies earned an 88-71 victory behind a career night from Cayla King who scored 29 points on 7 for 12 shooting from beyond the arc. Pitt held an eight-point lead at the half before being held to just 23 points in the second half.

•Senior guard Aisha Sheppard was recognized by the conference's Blue Ribbon Panel as the Player of the Week, the first weekly honor of her career.
•Sheppard averaged 22.0 points per game to lift Virginia Tech to a pair of wins last week, including its best victory in program history last Thursday, as the Hokies upset second-ranked NC State in overtime, 83-71. The senior guard led all players with 28 points against the Wolfpack, scoring all of her points after halftime
•She scored 18 of her points in overtime, as Virginia Tech set an NCAA Division I record with 26 points in the extra period. Sheppard was 12-for-14 from the free-throw line in overtime to lead the Hokies to the 12-point victory.
•Teammate Elizabeth Kitley was previously the Co-Player of the Week on Jan.18, giving the Hokies two in the same year for the first time in program history. Tech is one of three schools to have two different ACC Players of the Week this season.
•Center Elizabeth Kitley owns 11 double-doubles which ranks first in the ACC and is one off of the national lead. She now has 17 for her career, a mark that is tied for the 10th most by a Hokie in a career, in just 46 games played.
