Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team fell to No. 13 Wake Forest on Friday afternoon, 5-2, inside the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
The doubles point was tightly contested between the Hokies (5-3, 1-1) and the Demon Deacons (10-2, 3-0). Freshmen Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback defeated Taha Baadi and Adam Ambrozy on Court 2, 7-5. The point was settled when senior Ryan Kros and graduate student Alex Ribeiro fell 7-6 on Court 1 to the No. 18 duo of Henri Squire and Eduardo Nava.
Freshman Hugo Maia continued his ferocious start to his collegiate career with a 6-4, 7-5 win on Court 4 against Filippo Moroni. Ribeiro wrapped up the day for Tech with a decisive 6-3, 6-4 win on Court 1 against Henri Squire.
The Hokies will face No. 16 NC State (4-4, 2-1) on Sunday at noon in Raleigh, N.C.
