Two ranked opponents await Hokies

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team travels to the Tar Heel State to face two ranked opponents this weekend, No. 13 Wake Forest and No. 16 NC State.

HOKIES
Virginia Tech (5-2) is riding a four-game win streak and started off conference play strong last weekend against Boston College with a 7-0 victory. Freshman Hugo Maia continues to dominate on Court 4, sitting at 6-0 on the season. No. 38 Mitch Harper also has become integrated into the lineup after missing out early with injury, but sits at 2-0 on the year after winning matches against Davidson and Boston College.
 
DEMON DEACONS
No. 13 Wake Forest (9-2) has won six consecutive games, including ACC clashes with Lousiville and Notre Dame. In singles, the Demon Deacons boast four ranked player: No. 31 Bar Botzer, No. 92 Rrezart Cungu, No. 107 Taha Baadi, and No. 121 Luciano Tacchi. The doubles pair of Henri Squire and Eduardo Nava is ranked No. 18. Wake Forest is 8-0 at home on the season.
 
WOLFPACK
No. 16 NC State (4-3) defeated Louisville and Notre Dame in its last outings. Before facing the Hokies on Sunday, the Wolfpack will host No. 4 Virginia. NC State's lineup has two ranked players, No. 7 Alexis Galarneau and No. 95 Tadas Babelis. In doubles, the pair of Yannai Barkai and Babelis is ranked No. 9, while the duo of Galarneau and Robert Turzak is ranked No. 23.
