BLACKSBURG – After sweeping Kent State in Sunday's doubleheader, Virginia Tech baseball is ready to face its neighbor Radford in a midweek matchup.
The Hokies (2-0) and Highlanders (2-1) will meet for the first time since 2020. Tech has won four of the last five matchups and is 27-3 at home.
The Hokies are now 60-65 under Head Coach John Szefc.

The matchup will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, with Bailey Angle (play-by-play) and Andrew Wells (analyst) on the call, while Bryant Johnson will broadcast on Virginia Tech Sports Network.

LAST TIME OUT
Tech dominated its first games of the season on Sunday, sweeping Kent State to start the season 2-0. Chris Gerard (1-0) held the Golden Flashes to just one run in Game 1, 3-1, of the doubleheader. Gavin Cross led the Hokies to victory in Game 2 with 3 RBIs and a homerun to right field in the 9-2 win.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Kevin Madden started season off with a bang, racking up two hits. His two-hit game marked the 24th time in his career with two or more hits. The sophomore also recorded an RBI in Game 1. Madden was on fire defensively, posting six assists and one putout, including a 5-4-3 double play in Game 2.
