Tech prepares for Furman, Xavier

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team welcomes two non-conference opponents to the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center this weekend – Furman and Xavier.

VIRGINIA TECH
The Hokies (1-2) split results last weekend against VCU and Old Dominion. The back half of the Tech's lineup has been strong, with senior Nina Sorkin, and freshmen Sabina Richtrova and Katie Andreini sitting at a combined 7-2 on the season.
 
FURMAN
The Paladins (4-4) enter this matchup with three consecutive wins, including victories over No. 16 Wake Forest and No. 18 South Carolina. Senior Katarina Kozarov is ranked No. 15 nationally in singles, while the doubles pair of Kozarov and Julia Adams is No. 27.
 
XAVIER
The Musketeers (3-0) defeated Northern Kentucky at home on Friday to extend their unbeaten streak to start the season. Once A-10 foes, the last the Hokies played Xavier, Tech earned a 9-0 victory in 1997.
