Hokies ready for first serve

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team begins its 2021 campaign against Charlotte on Saturday at noon.

Saturday's match will be the first competitive action for the Hokies since March 8, 2020 (328 days).
 
HOKIES
Tech returns a strong core of the 2019-20 squad, including four players at the graduate student or senior level: Shene Disbergen, Nina Sorkin, Nika Kozar, and Elizabet Danailova.
 
To complement the experience on the court, the Hokies also bring in the 13th ranked recruiting class (per Tennis Recruiting Network), which consists of freshmen Katie Andreini, Tamara Barad Itzhaki, and Sabina Richtrova.
 
The doubles tandem of Danailova and Kozar is currently ranked No. 58 in the country.
 
Charlotte
Charlotte enters the match at 2-2 on the season. Following losses to No. 6 Duke and No. 16 Wake Forest, the 49ers claimed victory over Wofford and Wingate last Sunday.
