BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is back on the court this Thursday, January 28 to take on the second-ranked NC State Wolfpack for the second consecutive game. Tip is set for 4 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network.
This past Sunday, Tech traveled to Raleigh and battled the Wolfpack, falling 89-87. Center Elizabeth Kitley led all scorers with 30, collecting a league leading tenth double-double. Aisha Sheppard added 24 points and became the program's all-time leader in 3-pointers, eclipsing Vanessa Panousis' mark of 269. Sheppard, the national leader in 3's this season has 54 and 273 for her Virginia Tech career.

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING FOR
•A ranked win for the Hokies
Tech's last victory over an AP ranked opponent came at Cassell on February 21, 2019 against the 14th-ranked Miami Hurricanes. Since then the Hokies are 0-5 against ranked opposition, all of whom were ranked inside the top 10.
The program's last victory against a top 10 opponent came in December of 2015 when the Hokies won at No. 8 Tennessee 57-43.
The highest ranked team that the program has defeated was No. 5 ODU in 1985.
