BLACKSBURG – With National Girls & Women in Sports Day on the horizon, the Virginia Tech athletics department and Hokie Club will highlight its women's sport foundation, which financially supplements VT women's athletic teams. Tech will showcase the highlights of our amazing women's sports teams, student-athletes and coaches the first week of February, in conjunction with promoting our women's sport foundation.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 3, but all week there will be moments shared from the Hokies' storied past. To jump in on the action, be sure to use the hashtag #IJump4Her, as well as give to the Hokie Club to write a new script for the future Hokie women to come.
Tech believes in the power of sport in the lives of young women and the enduring lessons preparing student-athletes for success in their careers and life after college. It is united in sharing the stories of its female-student athletes and promoting the benefits of sport to the younger generation of girls.
Follow the Tech women's basketball team playing on Thursday, Feb. 4 at Pitt, as well as the Hokies' swimming and diving and track and field student-athletes on Friday, Feb. 5.
