Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech lacrosse program announced its 2021 schedule Tuesday which features five non-conference contests and a 10-game ACC slate. Tech will face in-state foes Liberty, James Madison and Radford as well as play at Davidson and play host to Jacksonville for the first time in program history.
In ACC play, the Hokies will take on Duke, Virginia and North Carolina twice, in addition to meeting Notre Dame, Syracuse, Louisville and Boston College once.
The Hokies were 7-3 (1-1) and finished ranked 24th in the IWLCA Coaches Poll in the shortened 2020 season. The ACC did not give out conference awards but two Hokies earned All-America honors after fantastic seasons; M Paige Petty (Third Team) and M Kayla Frank (Honorable Mention).
Petty recorded 38 goals, the third-highest total in the nation and her 43 points placed her within the top 10 in scoring overall. Frank, a freshman, led all rookies in America with 45 total points (23 goals, 22 assists). She set the program record for assists in a single contest when she provided eight helpers in Tech's rout of Radford.
