BLACKSBURG – In her Hokie debut, graduate student Ashley Homan was named ACC Volleyball Player of the week. Homan earned the first honor of the 2020 season in the ACC.
The Texas native in the Hokies' victory over the Citadel recorded 12 kills with a .667 hitting percentage. The outside hitter also tallied five digs and one assist in her first-ever match as a Hokie.
Homan helped lead Tech to victory in their season opener over the Citadel as the Hokies eased past the Bulldogs in a 3-0 clean sweep to move to 1-0 on the season.
The Virginia Cavaliers' Madison Morey claimed ACC Freshman of the Week. The Hokies will take on the Cavaliers later in the season on Oct. 16 & Oct. 18 in Blacksburg.
UP NEXT: The Hokies will host North Carolina in a pair of matches on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET and then again on Friday at 5 p.m. ET at Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum.
