Kendall Fuller seals Super Bowl victory for Chiefs

MIAMI – CB Kendall Fuller came up big in crunch time for Kansas City in Super Bowl LIV, picking off San Francisco QB Jimmy Garoppolo with 1:04 left in the game to effectively seal the Chiefs first World Championship in 50 years. Fuller made a leaping grab over 49ers WR Deebo Samuel to seal the win and start the celebration on the sidelines, in the stands and all across Chiefs Kingdom. It marked KC's first Lombardi Trophy since the Chiefs won Super Bowl IV following the 1969 season.

While the game's MVP QB Patrick Mahomes rallied the Chiefs back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, Fuller and KC's defense were able to stymie San Francisco down the stretch of an epic Super Bowl victory. The Virginia Tech alum finished the game with four tackles (three solo) and two passes defensed to go with his interception. A victory parade in Kansas City is scheduled for Wednesday.

The Baltimore native began his NFL career as a third-round pick of Washington in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons with the Redskins before being sent to Kansas City as part of the Alex Smith trade in 2018. A member of the only family in NFL history to have four siblings all attend the same college and all be selected in the NFL Draft, the youngest Fuller brother is now the first to earn a Super Bowl ring.
