BLACKSBURG – Four home meets highlight the 2021 Virginia Tech track and field schedule, as announced by director of track and field and cross country Dave Cianelli Wednesday afternoon.
Tech opens its 2021 indoor slate with back-to back home meets as they host the Virginia Tech Invitational (Jan. 15-16) and the Hokie Invitational (Jan. 22-23). Tech will take a break from Rector Field House to compete at the Bob Pollock Meet (Jan. 29-30).
The Hokies will return home to host the Doc Hale Elite Meet (Feb. 5-6) while select student-athletes will also travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the Camel City Invitational.
After splitting up to participate in the Tiger Paw Invite, JDL Collegiate Invitational and the VMI Invitational, the Hokies return to Rector for the Virginia Tech Challenge, their final home meet of the season, held Feb. 19-20. Select student-athletes will also travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the JDL DMR Invitational.
The indoor conference championship will take place Feb. 25-27 in Clemson, South Carolina, as the women's team will try to win back-to-back indoor titles. The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas March 12-13.
