Hokies hit the road for contests against NC State

BLACKSBURG  – To conclude their fall schedule, the Virginia Tech volleyball team will travel yet again to Raleigh, North Carolina to face off against NC State on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. ET & Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. ET. Coverage will be available through the ACC Network Extra for both outings.

Last time out, the Hokies defeated the Blue Devils for the first time inside Cameron Indoor on Saturday evening. Duke would respond on Sunday night winning the match and the two squads would split the season series at 1-1. Outside hitter Kaity Smith accomplished two milestones on Sunday evening at Duke. Smith got to 100 kills for the fourth straight season and also reached 1,030 kills for her career which is tied for fifteenth all-time at Tech.

Last time out against NC State, Tech fell to the Wolfpack 3-2 in Raleigh last season. The Hokies lead the overall series between the two programs 21-15. Tech's last win against NC State was a 3-1 win in 2015 at home while the Hokies last win in Raleigh came in 2013 and was a 3-0 success. 
 
The Wolfpack are led by first-year head coach Luka Slabe. Slabe earned his first two ACC wins when NC State sweeped Virginia on the road this past weekend. Slabe sits at an 2-4 record thus far at State. These matches will be the debut meetings between Marci Byers and Slabe.
