Tech takes on No. 14 Duke in Cameron Indoor

Match Notes

BLACKSBURG  – To open road play, the Virginia Tech volleyball team will travel to Durham, North Carolina to take on No. 14 Duke twice on Oct. 24 & Oct. 25 with both matches being at 5:30 p.m. ET inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. The first contest will have coverage available through the ACC Network Extra while the second outing will be available through the ACC Network.

Last time out, the Hokies completed the sweep over Virginia this past weekend with both wins being 3-1 victories. Graduate student Kaity Smith had a game-high 17 kills along with 14 digs bringing her to 26 double-doubles in her career. The overall series between the two schools now moves to 39-37 with the advantage going to Tech. 

Last time out against Duke, the Hokies fell 3-1 to the Blue Devils in Cameron Indoor. In the overall series, Duke leads the Hokies 31-4. Tech's last win against the Blue Devils came in 2014 and was a 3-2 win in Blacksburg. The Hokies have never defeated Duke in Durham. 

The Blue Devils are led by head coach Jolene Nagel who is currently in her 22nd season at Duke. Her overall record as a head coach is 645-355 and her record at Duke currently is 442-217. Nagel has the Blue Devils ranked in the AVCA top 15 and tied for second in the ACC at 4-1.
