Khalil Herbert earns Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll accolades Monday

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech RB Khalil Herbert was recognized Monday by the Louisville Sports Commission as he was added to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll. The Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse, now in its 11th season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football.
 
In addition to Herbert, RB CJ Marable from Coastal Carolina, and WR Jaylen Waddle from Alabama were recognized on the Honor Roll. 
 
Herbert (5-9, 212) registered his fourth consecutive 100-yard rushing performance against Boston College, carrying the ball 18 times for 143 yards. He found the end zone on a 29-yard TD reception from QB Hendon Hooker and returned two kickoffs for an average of 25.5 yards. 
 
The grad student is the FBS leader in rushing yards per game (148.0) and all-purpose yards (246.3). Herbert has recorded 667 yards from scrimmage and 6 TDs and has added 295 yards on nine kick returns.
 
Virginia Tech WR Tayvion Robinson was named to the preseason Watch List.
