Butler leads the way for Tech cross country squads

Lindsey Butler finished in fifth place to lead the Virginia Tech cross country teams performances at the Panorama Farms Invitational held at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Virginia on Friday afternoon.
 
Tech, Duke, and Virginia competed at the meet, with the Blue Devils winning the team competition on the women's side and the Cavaliers winning on the men's side. The meet marked the final regular-season meet for the Hokies.
 
Butler, a sophomore from Corning, New York, ran the 5K race in a time of 17 minutes, 11.2 seconds, finishing approximately 18 seconds behind winner Amanda Beach of Duke. Butler's fifth-place finish marked the best finish of her career.
 
Grace Boone, a sophomore from Pulaski, Virginia, also registered a top-10 finish, coming in eighth with a time of 17:23.7. Ava Hassebrock and Reagan Bustamante were 13th and 14th, respectively for the Hokies.
 
On the men's side, Max Greczyn led the way, coming in seventh. The redshirt freshman from Arlington, Virginia ran the 8K race in a time of 24:18.2, finishing approximate 25 seconds behind winner Rohann Asfaw of Virginia.
 
Two other Hokies recorded top-15 finishes. Antonio Lopez Segura and Osman Humeida were 14th and 15th, respectively. Ben Fleming came in 18th.
