Hokies Events: Jan. 31- Feb. 2

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech has four teams at home this weekend starting with swimming and diving hosting NC State beginning Saturday morning followed by Hokies men's basketball facing off against #5/6 ranked Florida State. On Sunday, women's tennis hosts a doubleheader and women's basketball takes on Miami that afternoon.

Swimming and Diving

The Hokies are back in Christiansburg for the final dual competition of the season as Tech hosts top-5 NC State on Saturday. Beginning the day, the Hokies will recognize their 14 seniors on this year's team. The last time out was highlighted by a men's team win over Virginia. 

Men's Basketball

Cassell Coliseum
Feb. 1 | 4 p.m. – Florida State

The Hokies enter the game against Florida State hoping to get back in the win column following a loss to Miami. A career-high game for Tyrece Radford was not enough to pull off the victory against the Hurricanes as Tech fell short in Coral Gables. The Seminoles are the fourth ranked opponent the Hokies have faced this season and come into Cassell at No. 5.

Women's Tennis
Blacksburg, Va.
Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center
Feb. 2 | 10 a.m. – Winthrop
Feb 2. | 3 p.m. – JMU
 
The Hokies continue spring duals on Sunday, hosting a double header with Winthrop and JMU. Virginia Tech earned back-to-back 6-1 wins over Appalachian State and ETSU to start the season undefeated.  
 
Women's Basketball

Feb. 2 | 2 p.m. – Miami
 
Tech enters the game against Clemson having won three out of the last four. The Hokies are coming off a tough road loss against Syracuse. Elizabeth Kitley led the Hokies with 10 points, shooting five for eight from the field.

Jan. 31 | 7 p.m. – Virginia
Feb. 2 | 1 p.m. – Old Dominion
 
Tech enters the weekend ranked No. 7 in the nation with an 8-1 record. The Cavaliers are 7-3 this season, having lost to No. 5 ranked NC State last weekend. The Monarchs are 6-8 this season and on a two-dual win streak beating Edinboro and Clarion.


Track and Field
Albuquerque, New Mex.
ABQ Convention Center
Feb. 1 | 9:45 a.m. – New Mexico

The Hokies pole vault group will compete on Saturday at the New Mexico Team Open. The Hokies have eight student athletes who have times and marks that rank in the top 25.


Men's Tennis
New Orleans, La.
City Park Tennis Center
Feb. 2 | 1 p.m. – Tulane

The Hokies face Tulane in the last road match before returning home to face off against Appalachian State. The Hokies look to rebound after losing to tough SEC opponents last weekend. Tech will face off against Tulane at City Park Tennis Center starting at 1 p.m.
