BLACKSBURG – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the schedules for the 2020 Olympic Sports Friday morning. The Virginia Tech men's soccer program will compete in six matches against ACC schools only.
The Hokies return to action after finishing last season 10-6-3 , in which they played the second hardest schedule in the nation. Tech also earned the highest National Seed in program history (10th) as head coach Mike Brizendine and the Virginia Tech men's soccer program look to continue their upward trend in 2020.
The Hokies will compete in three home matches on the season. The first of which being the season opener against in-state rival Virginia (Oct. 3), followed by games against Notre Dame (Oct. 16) and Syracuse (Oct. 24). On the road the Hokies will face Pitt (Oct. 10), Louisville (Oct. 30) and will conclude the regular season with a second match at Virginia (Nov.6).
Teams will play in two regions (North & South), with six conference games against regional opponents over a nine-week period. The North is comprised of Louisville, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech while the South is made up of Clemson, Duke, NC State, North Carolina, Wake Forest.
The top four teams from each division will make the ACC Championship tournament which will be held Nov. 15-22.
