Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's and women's cross country programs revealed the 2020 fall schedule Thursday, a slate highlighted by one home invitational at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course in Blacksburg and the 2020 ACC Championships held in late October in Cary, North Carolina.
Both Tech squads open the season Friday, Sept. 25 at the Virginia Tech Invitational held on the Hokies' home course. The women's race starts at 5:15 p.m., with the men's race following at 6.
No spectators will be allowed at the meet because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes the parents and family members of Tech student-athletes and visiting team student-athletes.
Tech's other two meets will be the Panorama Farms Invitational held in Earlysville, Virginia, just outside of Charlottesville on Oct. 16 and the ACC Championships two weeks later at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. As of right now, the ACC meet will mark the end of the cross country season, as the NCAA postponed fall Olympic sports championships because of the pandemic.
