BLACKSBURG-- The Virginia Tech men's tennis team had six student-athletes named ITA Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday afternoon. The team as a whole was recognized as an ITA All-Academic team, as well.
Mitch Harper and Alex Ribeiro were recognized for their academic achievements in their senior years, along with Chase Bernstine, Ryan Kros, and Carlo Donato in their junior campaigns, and Matthis Ross in his freshman year.
In order to receive recognition as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
The Hokies were named an ITA All-Academic team due to the team having an average grade point average of 3.2 or higher. Amidst a unique situation last academic year, the team had a 3.81 average during the spring semester.
