Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech Athletics in conjunction with the Hokie Kids' Club announced the winner of the T-Shirt Design Contest. Eight-year old Evie of Blacksburg, Virginia was named the winner, and won her family four tickets to a Virginia Tech football game this Fall. Every Maroon Level member of the Hokie Kids' Club this year will receive a t-shirt donning the design inspired by Evie.
Her mountain-based design came from her thoughts of home. "What do you think of when you think of Blacksburg?" was her prevailing thought. Looking out the back window of her home and seeing the mountains of Ellett Valley prompted her design.
Evie just finished 2nd grade, and enjoys going to football games, as well as men's and women's basketball games. Her favorite story from last year was after a women's basketball game, she stood in line to get autographs from the team during an autograph signing. Several of the student-athletes were taller than her father, which was comical to her. Evie and her family are excited to continue making memories at Virginia Tech Athletics events in the future.
