Hokies falter to No. 5 NC State

BLACKSBURG-- The Virginia Tech women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 5 NC State at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. 
 
On court one, No. 78 Elizabet Danailova and Nika Kozar were on a roll leading the No. 2 doubles team in the nation, Anna Rogers and Alana Smith, 5-4. However the match wasn't played out after NC State claimed the point on courts two and three. 
 
Going into singles the Wolfpack had three players ranked, continuing their momentum. NC State would clinch the match with straight wins on courts six, two, and one. 
 
Danailova battled on court three against No. 37 Adriana Reami. Danailova won the first set 6-3 before falling 7-5 in a close second set sending the match to a 10 point tiebreak. Reami would eventually win 10-5 clinching the match. 
 
The Hokies will return to action on Sunday, March 8, to host Georgia Tech at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
