Opens in a new window ACC Release

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Tech men's basketball team's Landers Nolley II and Nahiem Alleyne have earned a spot on the 2020 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men's Basketball team.

Nolley, a redshirt freshman from Atlanta, Georgia, earns the honor for the first time, and is in his second year studying public health. During his redshirt season last year, he made the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Alleyne, a freshman from Buford, Georgia, also earns the honor for the first time. He is currently enrolled in human development in his first year at Tech.

Both are contributing on the court for the Hokies (16-14, 7-12 ACC) as well, with Nolley averaging 15.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game and Alleyne owning 9.4 points and 2.4 rebounds a contest.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

These are the two of 15 players named to this year's team. Florida State's Trent Forrest was named the recipient of the league's 2020 Skip Prosser Award, given annually to the top scholar-athlete in ACC men's basketball. It is named in memory of Wake Forest head basketball coach George Edward "Skip" Prosser, who passed away on July 26, 2007.
