BLACKSBURG – After posting a 16-4 record in non-conference play thus far, Virginia Tech softball travels to Charlottesville, Virginia to face off with Virginia in its first ACC series of the season.
The Hokies (16-4, 0-0 ACC) see their Commonwealth Clash rival Cavaliers (8-9, 0-3 ACC) for the first and only time this season. All three games can be seen on ACC Network Extra.

Tech defeated Purdue twice, Jacksonville and Stony Brook in Jacksonville, Florida this past weekend.
Keely Rochard (11-3) went 4-0 and posted a 0.30 ERA in Jacksonville, striking out 44 batters in 30 innings pitched. On Tuesday, Rochard was named ACC Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week, and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the week for the third time in her career.
After an impressive showing at the Charleston Invitational, Meredith Slaw followed it up with a team-leading seven hits in Jacksonville. She also led the team with four RBIs and a .667 slugging percentage.

The Hoos are coming off a mid-week loss to [RV/RV] James Madison (10-4) and a series defeat to Clemson (16-7, 3-0 ACC). With a .339 batting average, Donna Friedman powers Virginia's offense with three home runs, four doubles and 13 RBIs in 17 games this season.
Head coach Joanna Hardin is in her fourth season at the Cavaliers' helm. Previously, Hardin was the head coach at McNeese State, where she went 79-34 in two seasons.
