Hokies remain at No. 19 in NFCA, fall to No. 21 in USA Softball polls

BLACKSBURG – After a 4-1 weekend at the JU/UNF Spring Break Challenge, Virginia Tech softball remains No. 19 in the country in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll and falls one spot in the ESPN.com/USA Softball to No. 21.
 
No. 19/21 Tech (16-4) defeated Purdue twice, Jacksonville and Stony Brook in Jacksonville, Florida this past weekend.
 
Keely Rochard (11-3) went 4-0 and posted a 0.30 ERA in Jacksonville, striking out 44 batters in 30 innings pitched. On Tuesday, Rochard was named ACC Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week, and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the week for the third time in her career.
 
After an impressive showing at the Charleston Invitational, Meredith Slaw followed it up with a team-leading seven hits in Jacksonville. She also led the team with four RBIs and a .667 slugging percentage.
 
The Hokies return to action this weekend at Commonwealth Clash foe Virginia (8-8) to open the ACC season.
