GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech wrestlers received their seeds for the ACC Tournament in Pittsburgh on Sunday, the conference announced Tuesday.
Hunter Bolen (22-2), who is the No. 1-ranked 184-pounder in the country according to InterMat, is the 1 seed for the conference tournament. He went 3-1 in ACC competition this season. He finished second at the 2018 ACC Championship.
At 149 pounds, freshman Bryce Andonian (17-5) earns the 2 seed with a 4-1 record in the ACC this season. His only ACC loss came to 1 seed Austin O'Connor (23-1) of North Carolina.
Mitch Moore (17-7) and David McFadden (18-4) are 3 seeds at 141 pounds and 165 pounds, respectively. McFadden is a two-time ACC Champion, winning last year at 174 pounds and before at 165 pounds in 2018. Moore placed second at the 2019 Championships.
Joey Prata (17-10), B.C. LaPrade (12-7), Stanley Smeltzer (13-13) and John Borst (18-8) earn four seeds, while Collin Gerardi (13-9) and Cody Hughes (12-10) are seeded fifth.
Last week, the NCAA announced the allocations for the NCAA Championships on March 19-21 in Minneapolis, Minn. The ACC was awarded 35 automatic selections to the NCAAs. For a full breakdown of the conference allocations per weight class, follow the link on the right-hand side of the page.
The 2020 ACC Championship will be held at the Petersen Field House in Pittsburgh, Penn. on Sunday. The first round will get underway at 11 a.m. ET Sunday morning, followed by the semi-finals at 1 p.m., consolation semis at 3:30 p.m., consolation finals at 5 p.m. and finals at 7 p.m. The preliminary rounds can be streamed on ACC Network Extra, while the finals will be showcased live on the ACC Network.
Tickets for the ACC Championship are available to the public. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth (18 and under). Group tickets (15 people or more) are priced at $3 each. All seating for the tournament is General Admission. Purchase tickets here.
